Our good friend shared with us his fresh catch of yellow tail. So we had fish for days.
It was so fresh that the first day had to be sashimi.
If you don’t have a friend that fishes, Wholefoods or your local fish monger will let you know what fish is ok to eat raw. Or sashimi style.
In a small clean jar add the following:
1 clove crushed garlic
1/2 teaspoon finely grated ginger (or crushed bottle ginger)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 lime juiced or half a lemon juiced
1 teaspoon sesame oil
With the lid on, give the jar a good shake. Taste and adapt to your liking. Maybe more citrus, more soy?
To serve, either lay finely sliced tuna on a plate or place in a bowl. Top with soy/lime dressing, a slice of green jalapeno and a few leaves of cilantro. I topped with my favorite magical journey topping. You could simplify and just grind fresh pepper or sprinkle some sesame seeds.
A lovely addition is a small slice of avocado for each piece or piled on top if you’re serving in a bowl.
